Terms & Conditions
These terms govern your use of Oversight across the Chrome & Edge extension, the iOS app, the Android app, and our web service — together, the "Service".
Effective date: June 14, 2026 · Last updated: June 14, 2026
The Service is operated by Renderwise ("Renderwise", "we", "us"). Contact: admin@renderwise.net.
Key points
- Oversight is an assistive tool — it helps you spot scams but does not guarantee it catches every one. You stay responsible for your own decisions.
- Paid plans renew automatically until you cancel; the 7-day Pro trial converts to a paid plan unless you cancel first.
- In-app purchases are billed and refunded by Apple or Google under their terms; web subscriptions are billed by Stripe.
- How we handle your data is covered by our Privacy Policy.
1. Agreement to these terms
By creating an account, installing the extension or app, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA/UK) and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. The Service is intended for personal and business anti-scam protection and is not directed to children.
3. The Service
Oversight analyzes messages, screenshots, links, and related signals that you choose to scan, and returns a risk score, a verdict, and a plain-English explanation to help you decide whether something is a scam. Features and limits vary by plan and platform and may change over time.
4. Your account
- Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account.
- Notify us promptly at admin@renderwise.net if you suspect unauthorized use.
- One person or entity per account, unless your plan expressly allows additional members.
5. Plans, billing & subscriptions
- Plans. We offer a Free plan and paid plans (Pro, Family, Team). Current features and prices are shown on our pricing page and at checkout.
- Free trial. The 7-day Pro trial requires no card on the web. Unless you cancel before it ends, a trial that you started with a payment method will convert to a paid subscription at the then-current price.
- Auto-renewal. Paid subscriptions renew automatically for successive periods until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- How to cancel. Cancel web subscriptions from your account settings. Cancel in-app subscriptions through your Apple App Store or Google Play subscription settings — those purchases are billed and managed by the app store.
- Payments & processors. Web payments are processed by Stripe; in-app purchases by Apple or Google. We do not receive or store full card numbers.
- Price & platform fees. We may change prices with reasonable advance notice; changes apply to the next billing period. App-store prices may be higher than web prices to cover platform fees.
- Refunds. Web charges are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated by us. Refunds for in-app purchases are handled solely by Apple or Google under their policies.
- Taxes. Prices may exclude applicable taxes, which you are responsible for.
6. Oversight is an assistive tool, not a guarantee
Scam detection is probabilistic. Oversight is designed to help you make safer decisions, but it cannot identify every scam, may occasionally flag legitimate messages, and risk scores are estimates — not certainties.
Oversight does not provide legal, financial, or professional security advice. You remain solely responsible for your decisions and should independently verify anything important — for example, by contacting the organization through a trusted channel, your bank, or the relevant authorities. Do not rely on Oversight as your only safeguard.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to break the law or infringe others' rights.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or attempt to extract our models or source, except where the law permits.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service except as expressly allowed by your plan.
- Circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or access controls, or interfere with or overload our infrastructure.
- Submit content you have no right to submit, or upload malware or unlawful material.
- Use the Service to build a competing product or to train competing models.
8. Family Overwatch & Teams
Family and Team features let a guardian or administrator receive alerts for people they are linked to. You may only link another person with their consent, and the protected person controls what is shared (sharing is off by default). If you are an administrator, you are responsible for having the authority and any required consents to manage the accounts you add.
9. Your content
You keep ownership of the screenshots, text, and other content you submit for scanning ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to process Your Content solely to provide and maintain the Service (including sending it to the processors described in our Privacy Policy). You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit Your Content. We handle Your Content as described in our Privacy Policy — notably, scanned images are processed and then discarded, not stored.
10. Intellectual property & feedback
The Service, including its software, models, content, and trademarks, is owned by Renderwise and its licensors. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. If you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use them without obligation to you.
11. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties (for example, OpenAI, Stripe, Apple, Google, and our hosting and email providers). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for third-party services or content. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of processors.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will detect all scams or threats.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Renderwise will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Renderwise harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
15. Suspension & termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see our data deletion page). We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, create risk or legal exposure, or for prolonged inactivity, with notice where reasonable. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including content licenses, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive.
16. Changes to the Service and these terms
We may modify the Service or these terms from time to time. For material changes to the terms, we will update the "Last updated" date and notify you by email or in-app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
17. Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing a claim, you agree to first contact us at admin@renderwise.net so we can try to resolve it informally. Any disputes not resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
18. Miscellaneous
- These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Renderwise regarding the Service.
- If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
- You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
